Description of requirements to ensure the measurement accuracy of glass rotameter
Dec 21, 2021
The glass rotor flowmeter has a regulating valve below DN10, which is convenient for users. There are the following requirements in installation and use:
1. Before installation, remove the top lining material from the flowmeter that plays a role in transportation protection. And check whether the cone tube is damaged, whether the float can move up and down freely, and then install it after confirming that it is normal.
2. Before using and installing the glass rotor flowmeter, check whether the technical parameters such as measurement range, degree level, rated working pressure, temperature and other parameters meet the requirements of use.
3. The newly installed pipeline should be flushed clean.
4. Keep the minimum graduation value of the rotameter at the bottom, and install it vertically on a vibration-free pipeline. The angle between the centerline of the rotameter and the plumb line should not exceed 5 degrees. Large-diameter flowmeters are heavy, so to avoid pipe bending, measures such as reinforcement and support can be taken when necessary.
5. During installation, avoid the rotor flowmeter from being damaged by excessive external forces, such as pressure torsion and other forces.
6. If necessary, according to different working conditions in use, install a filter on the upstream of the rotameter to prevent the rotameter from being contaminated by impurities.
7. If the fluid is unstable and has pulsating flow, in order to ensure the good measurement of the rotameter, a buffer can be installed to eliminate the pulsating flow.
8. When the rotameter is in use, first slowly unscrew the control valve on the upstream pipe of the flowmeter, and then adjust the flow with the regulating valve, so as not to suddenly open and cause the float to rise rapidly and damage the cone.
9. In order to obtain the measurement accuracy, it is recommended that the common flow rate of the fluid to be measured should be more than 60% of the rotameter index flow rate.
Since most of the flowmeter body is made of glass, the glass rotor flowmeter must be carefully used and transported.
