Knowledge of Rotameter

In the United States and Japan, it is often called variable area flowmeter or area flowmeter. The float flowmeter is a volume flow instrument, also known as rotameter, which measures the volume by changing the flow area between the float and the flow in the vertical cone tube. Float flowmeter is mostly applicable to small diameter and low flow rate, and can also be used in medium diameter. For ordinary full flow float, it can not be used for large diameter; For glass tube rotameter, DN100 can be used for larger; The metal pipe can be up to DN150. The flow range is generally 10:1; It can be used for measuring liquid, steam and liquid. According to its application classification, it can be divided into ordinary type, jacketed insulation type, explosion-proof type, corrosion-resistant type and blowing type.
As a visual flow indicator or field indicator with low measurement accuracy, float flowmeter can be used in process industries such as electric power, chemical industry, petrochemical, metallurgy and medicine and public utilities such as sewage treatment.
The common types of rotameter are as follows:
The rotameter is divided into transparent conical tube and metal conical tube according to the conical tube material.
According to whether there is remote signal output, the float flowmeter is divided into local indication type and remote signal output type, and the latter is divided into electric remote transmission and gas remote transmission.
The rotameter is divided into liquid, gas and steam according to the measured fluid.
The rotameter is divided into full flow type and split flow type according to the amount of measured fluid passing through the rotameter.
