Operation Guide For Glass Rotor Flowmeter

Dec 22, 2021

Rotameter, also known as area flow meter or constant pressure drop flow meter, is also a flow detection instrument based on the throttling principle when fluid flows. The common ones are plastic rotameter, glass rotameter and metal rotameter. The former two are generally in-situ indicating type, and the latter is generally made into flow transmitter. According to the different converters, the metal rotor flowmeter can be divided into gas remote transmission, electrical remote transmission, indicating type, alarm type, belt integration, etc.; according to the structure and purpose of the transmitter, it can be divided into basic type and jacket heat preservation Type, anti-corrosion type, high temperature type, high pressure type, etc. In this issue, we will introduce the use technology of glass rotameter:

The glass rotameter is suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises that require a low degree of automation. The glass rotameter is their leading product for measuring flow. It also has the advantages of simple structure, convenient operation, and low price. It is widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, petroleum, light industry and scientific research departments. It is a flow measurement instrument that is widely used in industrial flow measurement. Correct use of glass rotameter:

1. Do not remove the front cover for use, because the glass tube is easy to burst, and the cover plays a protective role.

2. When the glass rotor flowmeter is installed on the pipeline, the first thing to look at is whether the upstream and downstream pipelines are in a straight line. If it is not in a straight line, it will not only affect the measurement accuracy of the glass rotameter, but also damage the glass rotameter.

3. Keep warm when using glass rotameter in winter. If you don't use it at night, let off the residual liquid in the glass rotameter to avoid freezing the glass tube.

4. When opening the valve, it must be opened slowly. If it is estimated that the flow can float the rotor, but the rotor does not move upwards, immediately stop opening the valve and tap the pipe lightly to make the rotor rise slowly.

5. Firstly, observe whether the glass tube in the glass rotor flowmeter is intact, the glass tube is easily damaged; secondly, remove the fixed objects of the rotor, and gently tilt to see if the rotor can slide up and down freely. If it cannot slide freely, lightly vibrate the supporting plates on both sides of the glass rotameter. If you can no longer slide, you need to ask a professional to solve it.
