How to solve the pointer failure of the glass rotor flowmeter?
Dec 10, 2021
The glass rotor flowmeter is a precise flow instrument. Its data is marked by pointers. When the fluid flows into the conical tube float and rises, and its lift m is in balance with the gravity g, the displacement of the float is transmitted to by the electromagnetic steel An indicator to indicate the flow rate locally or convert it into a corresponding electrical signal. converter. It can be connected to the combination meter of the electrical unit, or it can be connected to the computer to realize the remote display, recording, adjustment, accumulation and control of the flow. Therefore, if the pointer fails, we will not be able to know the specific data of the flow, so how to solve it?
1. After turning on the system, the pointer will not move.
Reason: The impurity in the medium causes the rotor to jam; the working pressure of the system is too small, which leads to abnormal operation of the instrument.
Solution: Remove foreign objects; add electromagnetic filter to increase the working pressure of the system.
2. The pointer does not return to the top.
Reason: The medium contains impurities, which will cause the rotor to jam; the range of the glass rotameter is not suitable, and the selected instrument is too small.
Solution: Remove foreign objects and add electromagnetic filter.
3. The pointer fluctuates too much to read accurately.
Reason: The working pressure of the system is unstable; there is a pulsating flow or two-phase flow in the medium; the pipe diameter of the inlet and outlet of the instrument changes greatly, resulting in pressure changes or increased pressure losses.
Solution: Check your own system; eliminate pulsating flow and two-phase flow. Reduce pressure loss.
4. The pointer will not return to zero.
Reason: Due to the fluctuation of the glass rotameter, the pointer shifted; or the impact of the instrument up and down, the parts in the measuring tube were bent and deformed.
Solution: Loosen the small screw at the pointer to restore the pointer to a non-working state; it is recommended to send it back for repair or replacement.
